International Finance Expert Returns to Alma Mater to Give Talk on Trade
At Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus, September 20th event is free, open to public
Brooklyn, N. Y. - An international scholar, author of 32 books on finance and a graduate of the M.B.A. program at Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus, Jai Woong Lee will address trade issues in a lecture sponsored by the School of Business, Public Administration and Information Sciences.
The lecture will take place in the Campus's Library Learning Center, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 20. The public is invited to attend free of charge but reservations are required. Lee currently is guest professor at the College of Business Administration of Myongji University in Seoul, Korea. He received his M.B.A. at the Brooklyn Campus in 1969 after studying law and earning his L.L.B. at Seoul National University in 1955 and obtaining an advanced Diploma in 1959 from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, Netherlands. In 1970 he received his D.B.A. from American University, and in 1986 he earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a specialization in Financial Management from Chung-Ang University in Seoul.
"Dr. Lee's talk on international trade is certain to be extremely worthwhile," said Dr. Mohammed Ghriga, dean of the School of Business, Public Administration and Information Sciences. "We are fortunate to be able to hear an expert of his caliber speaking on this important topic," he added.
Lee's many publications include: "The Theory of Foreign Exchange Management" (1985, Pummunsa), "The Theory of Increasing Capital" (1988, Pummunsa), "Global Finance (2004, Dasarang), and "Global Corporate Management" (2005, Dasarang).
From 1955 to 1984, Dr. Lee worked at the Bank of Korea, rising to assistant superintendent of Banks, Office of the Bank Supervision and Examination. In 1988, he was appointed as CEO and president, Coryo Investment Management Company and the Coryo Research Institute, Seoul. Highlights of his academic life include appointments as senior fellow, Asia Pacific Institute and Northeast Asia Economic Forum, Honolulu, Hawaii (2002) and research professor, Korea University, Seoul (2004).
