Guitarist Ed Cherry and Cameroonian Vocalist Gino Sitson to Conduct Free Jazz Clinics at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus
Brooklyn, N.Y. — Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus will present a series of jazz clinics this fall with appearances by vocalist Gino Sitson, guitarist Ed Cherry and entertainment lawyer Mark Ostrow. All events are free and open to the public. The Brooklyn Campus is located in Downtown Brooklyn at the corner of DeKalb and Flatbush avenues.
- Tuesday, October 30, 4 p.m., Humanities Building, Room 106 - Gino Sitson. Jazz vocalist from Cameroon and his a cappella group, Vocal Deliria, will participate in a jazz clinic with students.
- Tuesday, November 6, 4 p.m., Humanities Building, Room 106 - Ed Cherry. Jazz guitarist Cherry and organ trio will give a jazz improvisation workshop as part of the Jazz Clinic and Concert Series.
- Saturday, November 10, 2 p.m., Kumble Theater - Jazz Saturdays! Culminating performances by high school students who participated in free jazz workshops through an NEA-funded music program at the Campus.
- Tuesday, November 20, 4 p.m., Humanities 106 - Mark Ostrow. Ostrow, an entertainment lawyer, will give a free music business seminar.
- Wednesday, December 5, 7 p.m., Kumble Theater - LIU Chorus and Vocal Jazz Ensemble Concert.
- Thursday, December 6, 1 p.m., Kumble Theater - Student Jazz Ensembles Concert.
- Friday, December 7, 1 p.m., Kumble Theater - Solo Vocal Jazz Concert.
