California Executive Guy Marge to Receive
Distinguished Alumni Award from Long Island University

Brooklyn Campus Commencement on May 15 -
Brooklyn , N.Y. – A successful business executive with nearly three decades of experience running multinational corporations, Guy Marge will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award from Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus at its 78th commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 15.
Marge, a resident of Claremont, California, is the president and CEO of Storm Industries, Inc. He will share the stage with talk show host Tavis Smiley, the commencement speaker. Smiley will address an audience of more than 1,700 graduating students, many of them immigrants and first-generation collegians.
Born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, Marge earned a bachelor of science degree and a master's degree in business administration from the Brooklyn Campus in 1965 and in 1967, respectively. Since 2002, he has served as president and chief executive officer of the California-based, diversified holding company, Storm Industries, Inc., and has revitalized the corporation through tactical redirection and an aggressive acquisition program that has boosted shareholder value by $91 million.
During his tenure, from 1988-2001, as president and chief executive officer of Milhous Group, Inc., Marge established manufacturing and sales operations in Europe and Asia that capitalized on global telecom opportunities, increasing sales to $200 million from $65 million. Concurrently, he served as president of Carson Industries, Inc., a Milhous Group subsidiary, where he increased sales to $80 million from $42 million over a three-year period, while refocusing research and development efforts that led to the rollout of more than 20 new products.
Additionally, Mr. Marge has held executive-level positions with Uniroyal Technology Corporation, The United Group, Inc., and Kearney-National, Inc. He began his career as a marketing professional for manufacturing industry giants including Gulf & Western Industries, Inc.; Sun Chemical Corporation; Continental Can Co.; and J.M. Huber Corporation. He serves on the boards of Channell Commercial Corporation and of Lone Rock Timber Company.
