Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus Presents New Production of “The Nutcracker”
Holiday classic re-imagined with world dances in contemporary New York City

Brooklyn, N.Y. – Just in time for the holidays, the beloved classic, “The Nutcracker,” dances into a global 21st century with an original production at the Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus.
Choreographer Brenda R. Neville has created an international version of the 19th-century ballet with Flamenco, Middle Eastern, Irish, Capoeira and other dance styles, using colorful costumes from around the world and a modern New York City setting. This new version of “The Nutcracker” also features more than a dozen promising dancers from the area, ages seven to 17, chosen by special audition to perform with members of the Neville Dance Theatre Company. The show has performances on December 18, 19 and 20.
