Top Experts to Discuss Home Foreclosure Crisis
at Free Forum at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus

- Monday, December 8, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.; open to the public -

Brooklyn, N.Y. – As home foreclosures continue to rise, helping people save their homes is a top national and local priority. An important forum at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus will address the challenges of the mounting crisis of foreclosures in our communities, and the solutions that will help ease the pressures on homeowners.

The Home Foreclosures Forum will provide families across Brooklyn with timely and invaluable information to prevent foreclosures, and referrals to appropriate services for those who have been already affected. The panel includes experts in real estate markets, mortgage banking, legal counseling and NYC Mortgage Counseling Services.

"Our goal for this platform is to provide the community with a sense of empowerment, encouragement and support in this extreme economic downturn," said Dean Mohammed Ghriga of the School of Business, Public Administration and Information Sciences, who developed the event with Justice Joseph Kevin McKay of the Supreme Court of the State of New York.

Justice McKay added: "This forum is a fine example of collaboration between LIU’s School of Business and the Brooklyn Supreme Court. It is inspired and driven by the consciences of both institutions, with the generous cooperation of the other distinguished panelists, in an effort to provide accurate information and practical guidance to the community."
