Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus Presents
Exciting Music and Dance Shows:

Vocalist Nadine Earl Carey to Perform Songs of Lyricist Dorothy Fields, Nov. 17;
Dance Department Winter Concert, December 11

Brooklyn, N.Y. - The songs of Dorothy Fields, one of Broadway’s great lyricists who wrote for revues, shows and films for nearly 50 years, will be performed at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus by vocalist Nadine Earl Carey and pianist Yvonne Purcell.

Carey and Purcell will bring Fields’ lyrics to life in the Music Department-sponsored event, "I Feel a Song Comin’ On," which will take place on Tuesday, November 17, at 2 p.m. in the Campus’s Humanities Building, Room 106. Admission is free. The Brooklyn Campus is located in downtown Brooklyn, on the corner of Dekalb and Flatbush avenues.

The Brooklyn Campus Music Department offers programs leading to a B.A. in traditional music studies, a B.F.A. in Jazz Studies and a B.S. in Music Education in Urban Schools. For further information, call (718) 488-1668.

The Dance Department at the Brooklyn Campus will showcase the talents of its dance majors at winter dance concerts at the Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts, located at the University’s Brooklyn Campus.

Dance majors will perform modern dance works choreographed by guest artists and dance department faculty, including Rodger Belman, Christal Brown, Alenka Cizmesija, Earl Mosley, Tom Price, and a restaging of "Shelter," an Urban Bush Women work, by Maria Bauman.

The concerts will take place on Friday, December 11, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, December 12, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission; $10, for students and seniors with ID.
